What is FURY?

FURY is the body of young people aged 11-25 within the United Reformed Church. It is lead by FURY Advisory Board (FAB) and FURY Executive (FE). There are two events at the national level each year:  URC Youth Assembly and FURY Forum. URC Youth Assembly is a weekend based around issues that matter to young people with workshops and the opportunity to bring Motions ensuring further work is carried out by FURY Advisory Board. FURY Forum is a more spiritual and theological weekend looking at issues that affect young people’s faith.

FURY is responsible for the publishing of f2 – a magazine about young people in the United Reformed Church. Click here to see the Autumn 2011 Edition.

FURY is an umbrella organisation including all young people associated with the United Reformed Church and as such encompasses organisations such as:

f2 Editor Post Up for Nominations

Following Phill Timson stepping as the f2 Editor at URC YA 2012 the post of f2 editor is now available for nominations. Pen Portraits should be prepared and submitted ASAP as the interviews will be taking place this Saturday at URC YA 2012.

 
F2 Editor (2-year post, nomination)

The f2 Editor’s main task is to make sure that the editions of f2 are produced and submitted in time for the publishing deadlines. They work closely alongside the United Reformed Church Graphics Office to design and produce each issue of f2. The f2 Editor sources and collates content to be published in f2 and edits articles before publication. The f2 Editor has delegated responsibility to exercise discretion with content at point of submission. The purpose of f2 is to share news of FURY at local, Synod and national level. It is also the job of the f2 Editor to ensure that editions of f2 are uploaded online.

Support will be available (if required) for all aspects of the job including written English, proof-reading and contact database building.

If you are considering standing for this position, please bear the following in mind:

– It is important that you feel called by God to fill this position.

– A good grasp of English is needed to ensure a high standard of publications.

– Communication between the Online Publications Coordinator and the Task Group Convenor is important as FURY Executive will have a hand in advising on online publications, setting deadlines and offering assistance to the f2 Editor.
